As moms, we don’t get a lot of alone time, but we try to make the best out of it when we do.
Yes, we love being moms, but spending time alone is an essential part of being a good mom.
Most of us moms get our alone time when the kiddos are fast asleep or at school.
My personal favorite alone time is in the early mornings when I wake up at 4:30 a.m., or 5:00 a.m., to start my day with my nice, warm, and delicious cup of coffee.
I was never a coffee drinker, but I have realized that if I am going to do this mothering and parenting gig the right way, I will need my daily cup or two of coffee.
Believe it or not, the mug you drink your coffee in matters. How would you feel if someone served you your favorite dish on a dirty plate? Not cool, right?
As busy, tired, and always being on the go, I thrive on positive affirmations. Some days the mornings are so busy and anxiety-provoking that I LITERALLY have to repeat affirmations aloud as I get the kids ready for the day.
For this reason, I appreciate a good mug that not only holds my favorite morning beverage but also motivates me to get through the morning.

Personal update
A year after publishing this blog post, I have made a beverage transition from coffee to tea. I have learned the hard way that drinking coffee regularly is not in the best interest of those who struggle with anxiety. But that still doesn’t stop me from using my favorite mugs to drink my new preferred beverage.
