Fall is by far one of my favorite times of the year and one of the most exciting seasons. With the tree leaves turning color, sweater and hot chocolate weather coming in, and daylight getting shorter, there are so many things to do in the fall and so much to explore before the cold winter months arrive.
This time of year is the perfect time to engage in both indoor and outdoor activities that you can only do during the fall season.
Similarly, the fall season is my favorite because it offers lots of fun, family-friendly activities that keep you and your family moving all season long!
With many activities to add to the fall bucket list, it can be challenging to know where to start. I have compiled a list of 70 things to do with your family this fall season, and trust me; you won’t want to miss out on any of these favorite fall activities.

- Take family photos outdoors: The most astonishing part about fall is the changing colors of the leaves from trees that were once green to yellow, red, orange, and brown. With the beautiful scenery created by the many different colors of shedding leaves, this time of year is the perfect time to take family photos for any occasion, even for Christmas.
- Decorate your home for the season: With the captivating warm fall colors, there are many directions to go in when decorating your home. And with the colored leaves, pinecones, and acorn, there’s no better time to take on a DIY home decor project.
- Rake and jump in piles of leaves: Make yard work fun by involving the kiddos. Encourage them to help you rake the leaves with the perk of jumping into the leaf piles right after!
- Go on a nature walk in the late evening with a lantern: Now that daylight is getting shorter, it’s easy to put your favorite sweater on and go for a walk right after dinner. Make fun and interesting by using a lantern. I am sure your kiddos will love that. This nature walk can easily turn into a mindfulness activity.
